Making Memorial Day a Respectful Learning Opportunity

Many families use Memorial Day to mark the beginning of the summer outdoor and cookout season and may gather for a long three-day weekend of festivities.

While this is fine, it’s also important to remember, respect, and honor the real reason for Memorial Day and that it’s about more than just family cookouts.

A few ideas for the holiday include:

Read Aloud
A nationwide initiative to improve early literacy by reading aloud 15 minutes per day.
Learn More
Dolly Parton Imagination Library
A program that sends free books to children every month until their 5th birthday .
